1. Pitch
For my summative project, I decided that I want to create game-related assets such as Character Art, Sprites/Models, and a bit of a soundtrack. The setting/theme of these assets for a RPG-based game. This is set on a dystopian future.
(Synopsis) Where humans are being controlled by a system called The Cure. The Cure allows the user to experiences things they would desire, such as dreams, goals and etc. But it erodes their mental and physical state as time passes on, as well destroying their own identity. Things began to change, when some people unaffected/immune by The Cure. The percent of being unaffected was a chance of 0.01% at birth. They would called themselves The Virus. Their goal is to destroy The Cure and to find the real cure, to allow a new future. But first, they have stay hidden and act as if they were under the influence. Or be destroy by The Dream, who are failures of The Cure. (End) (Setting) The environment is a dark, quiet and city where civilization is kept in order by The Cure. The timeline of the story, is more of a modern time transcending into a more technology driven. The civillians are kept doing daily "normal" things, but are not control of themselves. It is like they are awake, but in reality, they are in an endless dream of desires. And the expression they can only make is a smile. To be able to contain order, The Dream seeks out and kills the rejects of The Cure and members of The Virus.
(I think this is close to an original idea) My inspiration for this project is based on The Matrix and Psycho Pass.
The tools I'll be possibly using are Abode Photoshop (Digital Painting), Audition (Remixing some BGM, such as a score) and sketching out the characters, environment and etc.

Songs/BGM Choices
#1 Beyond Music - Digit By Digit
I chosen this song because it gives off a dystopian/futuristic theme and it would be perfect as a sub/main boss song.
#2 Peter Crowley - Dystopia
I chosen this song because it gives off a spooky vibe at first, then over time, it becomes an epic Boss song or a finale scene of an arc.
#3 Extreme Music - Combat Ready
I chosen this song because as the other songs above, it would fit as a Mini Boss song
#4 Epic Rock - Ready For This
I chosen this song because the lyrics fit well with the theme. For example, the 2:50 mark showcases that no matter what they can do, they can't slow the heroes down. This would go well as an ending credits or a motivating point in the plot.
#5 Epic Rock - Fight
I chosen this song for similar reasons as the song above. It presents itself as a movtivating song for the protagonists. This would go well as an ending credit or an ending of an arc.
Final Thoughts
As this concludes the Intro to Asset Creation Unit, the tools I have used for this project are Abode Photoshop, Abode Illustrator, FireAlpaca, Paint.Net, Wacom Tablet, pencil, paper and the legendary mouse. Some of my experiences were that I had trouble starting because I was yet still a beginner at Photoshop and digital drawing. As time progress, I was able to become more better at it. But I still have more time to extending my learning of Photoshop and digital drawing. One thing I can improve is adding more bits of gameplay since my project are assets for a game, I would like to add more assets in the gameplay, rather than assets for the story mode. Another thing I can improve on is the character and enviorment arts because in my view, they look 75% finished, but then again, I might be overthinking it. I enjoyed the units and the activties presented in the class. I hope it well be more enjoyable next year of Asset Creation Grade 12.
